Organization

The NCAS is governed by a Board of Management and is administered by an Executive Director and a Director. The National Office is based in Johannesburg and employs a secretary.

 

The NCAS united with

 

 

     the Heart and Stroke Foundation of SA and

 

  

  

 

 

 the Cancer Association of SA to form the

                                                                                         

 

  

   Tobacco Action Group (TAG).

 

 

 

 

The NCAS co-operates with the Department of Health on all matters related to smoking and health. We participate in the Framework Convention on Tobacco Control and assist with the Intergovernmental Negotiating Body meetings for this convention.

 

The NCAS submits reports to the World Health Organisation (WHO) and assists with managing conferences and summit meetings, such as Africa Summit on Sustainable Development, hosted by the Minister of Health in 2002. The NCAS acted as an advisor for the World Summit on Sustainable Development (Aug. 2002).
